There are over 34,000 dogs and cats in the Walnut Creek area that could be affected by a disaster. Walnut Creek DART focuses on rescuing and sheltering animals during a disaster and providing peace of mind for people who have often lost everything but their animals.

DART Training : Starts Thursday, April 22nd, 2010
Five Evening Sessions: (April 22, 29; May 6, 13, 20)
You will learn about animal intake, shelter organization & management, medical operations, animal behavior, and communications.
Sunday Drill: (May 23rd)
You will set up an animal shelter, perform animal intake, learn to photograph animals, and practice various shelter functions.
Times:
Evening sessions: 6:30pm – 9:30pm Sunday Drill 9am –12pm; 1pm – 5pm. Followed by graduation.
