Cohort 1 Training & Graduation - first 24 animal disaster responders graduated from a 20-hour Disaster Animal Response Team (DART) training in Moraga

March 7 & 8

Noah’s Wish Training – several Lamorinda DART members participated in Noah’s Wish in-field disaster animal response training program in Dublin, California

April - May

PEP Training, Martinez – several Lamorinda DART members participated in first (and last) Contra Costa County Pet Emergency Preparedness training at Animal Services

May 30

Walnut Creek – Animal Shelter Drill – DART and PEP members set up emergency animal shelter as part of Walnut Creek CERT, Buena Vista “earthquake” drill

July 4

Lamorinda DART members held tabling event & classes at Moraga Commons as part of pet emergency preparedness campaign to help pet owners prepare for disasters.

August 8 -10

San Ramon Valley DART Training – DART, PEP and Noah’s Wish members organized first CORE DART training for San Ramon Valley CERT graduates at San Ramon Valley Fire Station.

August 14 – 16

Lockheed Fire, Santa Cruz – Lamorinda DART & PEP volunteers deployed with Noah’s Wish to staff an emergency animal shelter at Santa Cruz Fairgrounds

September 10 – October 3

Cohort 2 Training & Graduation – second group of animal disaster responders graduated from a 20-hour Disaster Animal Response Team (DART) training

September 19

Contra Costa Animal Services, Martinez –DART and PEP team volunteers helped redistribute and organize the contents of Contra Costa County’s animal emergency response trailers

October 2

San Ramon Disaster Drill  - DART, PEP & Noah’s Wish volunteers helped to set up and staff a simulated emergency animal shelter.

October 10

Lamorinda DART volunteers participated in tabling event at Moraga Fire Station as part of emergency preparedness campaign to help pet owners prepare for disasters.

October 18

Lamorinda CERT Drill – Orinda - Lamorinda DART volunteers simulated an animal shelter and provided just-in-time training for 60 CERT volunteers who were assigned to DART to staff an emergency animal shelter.

November 7

Walnut Creek CERT Drill – DART and PEP team members set up emergency animal shelter as part of a mobilization and drill exercise for CERT graduates

November 12

Anniversary dinner marking successful completion of Larmorinda DART program for cohorts 1 and 2.    Farewell for DART instructor and Noah's Wish Coordinator, Charlie Cosby.
