The Contra Costa County CERT organizations will hold a Multi City CERT Drill on 9/11/2010. The Contra Costa DART organizations will participate alongside the American Red Cross. Together, we will set up emergency shelters for animals and their companions.

The Drill begins at 8:00 am and ends at 3:00 pm. The location is the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District Training Facility at 2945 Treat Blvd., Concord, CA 94518.

Overall, there will be five activities during the drill:

  • Set up and operate a Volunteer Intake Center;
  • Set up and operate an Emergency Red Cross Shelter;
  • Set up and operate an Emergency Animal Shelter;
  • Set up a Triage / Treatment Area;
  • Perform Light Search and Rescue;

Through a number of scenarios participants’ skills will be assessed in a live skills practice.

We need as many DART graduates as we can get. This is a great opportunity to practice, to deepen our relationship with the American Red Cross and to demonstrate to CERT members the advantage of joining DART.

Please use this registration form to indicate that you are available.
