On Saturday, June 5, 2009 the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) of Martinez will host a training exercise for the CERTs of Martinez and our neighboring cities at Alhambra High School in Martinez.
This exercise will cover Incident Command System, Fire Suppression, Light Search & Rescue, Facility Evacuation, Disaster Medical Operations, FRS Communications, and Interagency Operability. Animal Services will be operating one of their portable shelters and Red Cross will operate a shelter in the Gym.
Please pass this on to your CERTs and anyone who would be interested in being a victim for rescue and/or evacuation to one or both of the shelters. Victims for the Animal Services shelter should bring a stuffed animal (or two) for a “pet” to check in. All DART and CART members are invited to sharpen their skills and to spend some time with the Red Cross shelter people to develop an understanding on their operations.
CERTs will be encouraged to rotate to the shelters to observe their operations for thirty minutes.
Salvation Army will have their canteen there and ARES will be assisting with communications.
MRC has also been invited.
