It's official: I am crazy. I am training to be in a marathon. Not just any marathon: I have my eyes set on the LA Marathon of March 2011. Crazy might be an understatement. Enough about me. How crazy are YOU?
Team Noah's Wish is looking for crazy people like us. Last year they participated in the LA Marathon for the first time. It was a success. People participated and raised money.
This year they were invited to participate again. And raise even more money. The catch is that they need more people to run.
So they sent out a challenge to Noah's Wish members in Northern California. And I fell for it. And I hope you will fall for it, too.
I have never run in a marathon before. I walk, I do not run. And I am overweight. sounds like you? Read on: there is hope.
We are putting together a small group of people who want to train for the marathon. We have a coach who - for a fee - will guide us to being fit and strong enough to complete the marathon. We start training on the 18th of September.
Interested? Check out the blog of Team Noah's Wish. Read up on the marathon, but do not sign up yet. We will do that after our first meeting. Call the coach and let him know you are interested! (You must do that.)
We will start slowly, and build up strength and stamina over the months to come. If I can do it, so can you.
And if you are not going to participate yourself, there will be many opportunities to sponsor Team Noah's. Wish / DART in the coming months...

As you may have heard: I did not make it to the marathon. I fell behind in training because of other DART related things. And then, a month or so, someone died following a marathon. I figured, that without adequate preparations it was too dangerous to take on 26.2 miles. Next year?
