E-mail Print PDF

9/1-/2010: Mari Donovan and Charlie Crosby visited San Bruno and contacted Peninsula Humane and others to, once again, offer our services.
It all depends on how quickly animals can be reunited with their people and on how quickly evacuation will be ended.

Currently, there are enough volunteers on the ground. If the situation changes we will be contacted through Noah's Wish.

Older reports:

9:00 am: 4 dead 50+ injured

Most evacuees were able to stay in hotels. Only 15 or so in ARC shelter.Part of area reopened. 75% contained. Damage extensive because this was an urban fire. Reminiscent of Oakland Hills fire. 38 homes destroyed 7 significantly damaged
Pet shelter set up inside San Mateo Petco no news on number of pets sheltered

7:00 a.m. Six people feared dead.

10:00 p.m. Noah's Wish has contacted the local peninsula humane society / aspca. They are in the process of determining what is going on and what is needed.

9: 00 p.m. The fire is being contained. We have contacted San Mateo EOC and American Red Cross Bay Area to offer our services. Waiting to hear back...

A big thank you to Annie M. and Carmen E. who are standing by to activate phone tree.

More tomorrow (or later tonight...)

7 p.m.: There is a serious fire in San Bruno. No animal related requests have been made. Noah's Wish has contacted EOC. Waiting for deployment orders. Please be ready!
