JEARS is a coalition of three well-established, no-kill animal welfare groups in Japan that came together the day after the March 11th earthquake to rescue and support animals in jeopardy. In addition to our current rescue efforts, we also see an exceptional opportunity to develop the plan of readiness for future disasters, and to influence institutional and social changes to further improve the lives of pets and other animals on an everyday basis.
