Certificate in Animal Disaster Response - CADRE©
The Advanced Level DART© Member will have completed the following:
All Requirements for the Level 1: CORE© Training
FEMA Certifications - Approximately 23 Hours of Training / 2.3 CEU's
CERT graduates who wish to join DART have a lot more training to do. They have to have the following certifications from the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
- ICS 800 National Response Framework, An Introduction (3 hour training / 0.3 CEU's)
- IS-10 Animals in Disaster, Module A: Awareness and Preparedness (10 hour training / 1.0 CEU's)
- IS-11 Animals in Disaster, Module B: Community Planning (10 hour training / 1.0 CEU's)
American Red Cross Certifications Approximately 11 Hours of Training / 1.1 CEU's
- Pet First Aid & CPR (4 hour training / 0.4 CEU's)
- First Aid and CPR w/AED (7 hour training / 0.7 CEU's)
Noah's Wish In-Field Training - Approximately 20 Hours of Training / 2.0 CEU's
Deployment During a Declared Emergency - Approximately 144 hours of Practice / 14.4 CEU's
We require two deployments under either Lamorinda DART supervision or Noah's Wish supervision for at least three days each to a Declared Emergency.
Upon completion of all requirements listed above (24.7 CEU's) Lamorinda DART will certify the participant as a Certified Animal Disaster Responder (CADRE). Graduates are eligible for deployment through DART©, Noah's Wish and their partners. They have the skills and experience to set up and manage temporary animal shelters and act on the command level as shelter managers etc.
