As thousands of people and their animals have become victims to tornadoes and floods, animal disaster response has taken off quickly. Most of the current response is through local groups. Noah's Wish and others are responding.
Volunteers in other parts have been asked to prepare for deployment. Two Noah's Wish teams arrived today and we will keep you updated on their progress. In the meantime, local groups are stepping into the foray. There is a very interesting Facebook page we urge you to like and read: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Animals-Lost-Found-from-the-Tornadoes-in-Alabama-on-42711/206345326063409. We believe that this page and others like it demonstrate the shifty to local response that we have seen in the last couple of years.
