Noah's Wish - Arkansas

E-mail Print PDF

Well the sun has finally come out in Arkansas – for the first time since Noah's Wish sheltering team arrived last week it’s not raining! According to the weather report, they are supposed to have 5-6 days of dry, warm days. Nobody is happier about the change in weather than the Noah's Wish volunteers onsite! Maybe they’ll have a chance to get warm and dry out. A few dry days may also give the rivers a chance to recede, as well as allow residents to get back in their homes.

There are 95 animals in the shelter as of this morning, no additional animals have been brought in so far today. The Noah's Wish volunteers that have been deployed since the beginning of the response, will be rotating out. There are convergent volunteers available, and they are being utilized.

A goodly number of the dogs in the shelter have been surrendered, so Noah's Wish is looking for adoptive homes for at least 50 dogs (the llama, donkey and horses have been spoken for).

Noah's Wish maintains its alert in Illinois. Last word was that the potential for flooding is not over and we have been requested to remain on standby.
